BRB Breast Bag was designed to ease the transition of hospital to home. Specially curated by Sara, this bag includes the following: The BRB Drainage Kit, The BRB Toiletries Kit, and The BRB Amusment Kit.
The BRB Drainage Kit includes essential supplies to assist in a successful recovery post-surgery. Please refer to the Important Papers folder for instructions on “How to Care for Your Drain” and to track daily care with the provided “Drain Log.” The following items are included:
(4) Gloves – Use latex gloves while performing your drain care to ensure the incision area is kept clean and sterile. Gloves are for single use only.
(4) 2X2/4X4 Gauze – Cotton gauze pads are provided to assist with incisional drainage and wound care. Apply these highly absorbent pads around the incision area to absorb, blot and wick away fluid.
(2) ABD Pads – Abdominal (ABD) gauze pads are used to absorb discharge and prevent contamination of the incision area. Use this wound dressing for padding or to reinforce a gauze compress. They also work well to wipe away blood or fluid from the wound site.
(4) Drain Sponges - Drain sponges, also known as split sponges, have a pre-cut slit that fits around drains or chest tubes to maintain a dry, clean environment around the incision area. Position the slit around the drain/tube to absorb any fluid leakage from the incision area to to help keep the wound clean.
Surgical Tape – Surgical tape is used to attach gauze, bandages or other wound dressings to the skin and secure placement around incisional area.
Sanitizing Alcohol Wipes – Disposable alcohol wipes help to clean and sanitize the incision area while protecting from the wound from infection. Alcohol wipes are for single use only.
